Yup, 99% likely your problem is pinched wires between the housing and handlebar as the wires exit the housings. The insulation is very thin and it only takes a pinprick of a hole in the insulation to have the wire(s) short to the handlebar.

You can confirm the diagnosis by loosening the housings, making sure the wires aren't touching the handlebars or housings, and trying the switches.

Many, myself included, have done the same as you.

So what's the best way to find out which wires are pinched. My security key light is also on. Would that be the same problem? It says in the manual that it has thrown a code.

The code is most likely a short. Had the same thing happen when a buddy and I did the switch housing on his sporty.

In the back of the HD Service Manual for your bike is a wiring diagram showing the wire colors and functions of the handlebar switches. You know what functions aren't working, check the wires identified by color for those functions.

Might be a dumb question but did you check the fuse? Need to replace a blown one before you find the pinch.
