You end up having a better riding posture with apes. Also it felt like I had power steering while riding down the road. The one negative it you need to be careful at slow speed and in parking lots.
Best thing I ever did was change from my 16" to the 10" Yaffe monkey bars the 16s just were a little to high for me at 5'10" and was tired of putting my hands down on my leg to get the blood flowing again
What the hell was I waiting for? They are awesome
I ordered the bars from Direct parts and the cables from Dr. V Twin
Both people were very impressive to deal with.
I went with the 12" MBB. They look higher online.
I can see/use the bottom of my mirrors.
Like everyone says I should have gone 14"s.
I am only 5'10" and was nervous about being too high.
I should have listened to others about trying to ride a few bikes before spending the ca$h.
Enough of all that, I love them and can't wait to keep riding
I am also going with these bars. I am 6'1 and decided to go with the 12s, but your post has me rethinking the 14s.
Thanks is the kind of feed back I was looking for. What are the handling issues, hate to dump it in a parking lot.
It just takes some getting use to it. Since you don't ride around a parking lot all day long this takes a little longer. Really not that big of deal. Just keep it in the back of your squash the first couple of times you ride.
Hello Everyone,
I will be taking some pictures this weekend of the bike and will post over the long weekend. Sorry about my slowness in reply and getting pics.
