rebel,,, I take it you missed the couple threads on this very subject??? there out there
I toured my butt from Topeka to Blue Springs Mo and back today. It would have been a "trip" had I taken the turnpike, but instead of having to worry about 3 lanes of 80 mph idiots on cell phones, I took all back roads, hence the "tour". Had a good time..me, my ride, and my ipod. (oops.......nm that part about the ipod).
OH . Im sorry. As I can see ALL the other forums are for repairing the bike. Do these bikes ever stay together ? All I read everywhere I go on here theres problems with Harley. Does anyone else see this ?
Thanks for the direction. Looked there. They take some cool trips.
DUDE...what i see is you needin some whine with your cheese....we post what we want cause we all got tourin bikes and this is the section we use....or are you just a troll lookin for love
Finally had some good weather and got out this afternoon , hit a nice stretch of highway for about 100 miles cruising @ 75 m.p.h. I really like the new 6speed I guess I am one of the few that do .
Rebel be kinda dull if we all came in here and said MY BIKE RAN PERFECTLY ALL WEEKEND had a fun trip? Mine did just that up to Vermont this weekend from Long Island. BUT that would file under road trip (Y)
Did about 250 miles today touring lower NY State. Trees looked awesome turning orange and the weather was perfect. Stopped off at O.C.C. and checked out the bikes in the showroom. The Lance Armstrong bike is incredible, just the motor. Between the Diamond cut heads and the alternating yellow and black fins, looked real sharp. They have about 20 bikes on display which they seem to rotate. Bought a raffle ticket for one of their old school bobbers. Don't bother trying to buy one, I'm sure I have the winning ticket. I've read alot of stuff knocking OCC. I know they are not "true bike builders", but they do have a great imagination when it comes to design. The NY Yankees bike is a perfect example of that.

Cool pic Piggy!
Week before last we took a trip to Las Vegas and bike on the bikes. On the way up from Phx btw) we went through Hoover dam. We didn't ont he way back and my advise is to go around the dam as it is very, very slow to get through on the bike. Lots of stop and go and the go is slow.
Each year our group choose a destination and ride out for a week. We leave out of Chi-town and been to Sturgis (several times), Laconia, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans (Natchez Trace Parkway going down), Pigeon Forge (Tail of the Dragon), Pennyslavania (did go to York), Canada, several Iron Butt Challenges (saddle sores 1000 x4, GLakes 100), Branson and just got back from Bikes, Blues and BBQ in Fayeteville, Arkansas. BBB is a must do next year. Great roads and nice sights. Just turned 30,000 miles on the '02. Since '94 when started to tour seriously, I've logged 70,000 miles on this bike and my old '94 FLTCU. Average just under 6,000 a year.
Touring? Is that what my Ultra is for?? Man! I will probably never really TOUR with it. Some local rides and work on the most comfy bike on the planet. I'm sure it is great for touring, but my longest ride to date is around 300 miles round trip. Tried to get in a 500 mile overnight this summer, but just to busy. Maybe next year.
