I'm waiting for that as well. Have you thought about a taller shield. My wife complained about hearing the radio on my bike until I put on a taller shield. I dont have rear speakers and now she sometimes asks me to turn it down. LRS has some nice inexpensive shields.

Their kit comes with 6.5" speakers and a 150w 2ch amp. I have no idea what the perceptible difference is between a 7.25" and a 6.5" speaker. And since my current amp is 2ch, I'm still going to need another amp, unless I go the route that Carl describes. .
Well,.........less radical. no. You cut a BIG hole in your existing lids,.........as opposed to buying a new lids. It's the same result.

Your other choice, unless you want to add 6 X 9's in the saddlebags, is to put the lower fairing speakers in.

I guess to further help you,............. a lot depends on what is most important to you.

1. How much $$$$ doyou want to spend ??
2. How good of an upgrade do you want ??
3. How much saddle bag space are you willing to part with ??

Your answers to thise questions, will be a HUGE part of the equation to solve your problems.

PS. I didn't even mention the GF !!

I ordered the cyclesound lids from Drew on here, DrVtwin. Im waiting for my buddy to paint them.

I also bought lower fairings and I am putting some Hertz HCX 6.5 speakers in them.

I bought a JL Audio 100x4 amp to run the speakers. Similiar to the Alpine PDXF6 I was going to run, both are digital, the JL amp is smaller and cheaper.

Waiting for things to be painted, then I can give results....
