Sealed not meaning air or water tight. Sealed meaning they are glued/fused together so you can't take them apart. It is a shame that we all suffer from some weird film or debris inside these units. They use LED's for lighting.
Taking them apart would require CUTTING them in half (at least the case) and yes, it would void the warranty on the units.
I took a hard look at them the last time I had the fairing off. I couldn't figure out a way to get them apart. I have covers for the bulbs from autometer I just all the gauges to match. I might take another look and if I screw it up then I'll just order the SE gauges with the red lights in them. I get 20% off year around so I can get new ones for the same $$ they bring used on ebay.
Any way to change the radio on a 2003 to blue also?
I found a pic of a all blue gauge set on the www.HeavyCycles.com site including the radio, so I called and emailed, got no response to if they did that mod. Maybe you'll have better luck. It was in the Photo Gallery (http://www.heavycycles.com/gallery.p...v=thumbs&Qis=M), but the forum wouldn't let me post it for some reason. I see it is the newer style radio, but..........
