The Road Glide belongs to the very exclusive secret society of the shark nose and is by invite only. If you haven't received an invite you don't need to worry about it.
Yes....sorry but you do not qualify. You are free to apply next year.
Generally... the best advice is to take an extended test ride on each... then decide...
BUT...
Given you've asked here, rather than ride each and decide, one might conclude you value the opinion of strangers.
If so... buy the Street Glide.. it's a nice bike, and very popular.

If you ask this question.... the RG ain't for you
That's very well written! That's the best response I seen in many "RG verse SG" topics on numerous websites.
My only comment is that I've had both, and above 90mph the RG handles a whole lot better, don't ask me how I know......lol. Once you go FUGLY you don't go back.
I totally agree about the higher speeds..over 85 the RG seems to settle down and streams the wind away. My old FLH really got battered after 80, now my RG wants the 100...
+1 mtclassic, the 1600 is a very sweet ride, leave it to BMW to come up with a light that shines around the corner while you turn, it will be industry standard in 5 years, using a gyro to aim the light, smart, smart.....
The headlight turning issue is BS. On a fork mounted unit like the SG it actually points slightly in the opposite direction due to the nature of riding a motorcycle(counter steering) turn left/push left, turn right/push right.
The RG's stays strait forward. The RG would then provide better directional lighting in a corner.
As to what suits you better. Sit on them both and ride them both if you can. Pick the one you like the best, regardless of which one I think is better.
When I decided to buy a new glide, I chose the SG. I just felt the Batwing looked better. Maybe I should have done the longer test rides and done a better comparison between the two, but I couldnt get passed that my taste was that the Batwing just looked better to me nothing more.
