Street glide vs Road glide
There must be a reason for this...........
On my SG I routinely ride in some very windy conditions, 20 to 30 mph winds with some 40 mph gusts thrown in and I'm impressed at how my SG just plows right through it.
I'm usually running 70+ mph and had the bike up to 90+ on several occasions. While the bike is comfortable and likes to cruise at 70+, at 90+ the buffeting on the helmet became distracting, annoying, and uncomfortable. And the bike didn't really feel good at that speed.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
1. fugly = opinions very, i was told i couldn't make a geezer glide look cool.
2. handling = opinions vary, most people have never ridden both enough to make an informed opinion.
3. headlights = this argument has to be the silliest, opinions very but no one ever mentions that you have twice the light (2 headlights what a novel concept when trying to see at night.)
4. wind = opinions very
5. comfort (fairing and handlebar placement) = opinions vary. the number 2 item most changed on a bike (#1 being exhaust) is the handle bars. why the crappy bars from HD because they know they cannot please all of us and this gives them the opportunity to sell us new bars that we do like. (business 101, less options equal after sale profits both in custom parts sales and installation labor)
So lets review OPINIONS VARY!
as much as most of us like to hang out with like minded people, biking is still an individual endevor.
be different, be the same, copy someone, don't copy someone, all in all ride and at the end of the day if you like the way you feel you have apperently accpmplished your initial goal of why you got a motorcycle in the first place.
