Will have to wait for more impressions from me...we just got like 8 " of snow here. Be another couple weeks before it is warm and dry enough to ride up here in MN.
Calibrated and on the road. Going to break it in for a few hundred miles then its off to the dyno. I can tell you this, for those that THINK they know how these cams will perform you are mistaken. I am in the high performance automotive business, and I am a pretty good judge of gains via the butt dyno. This bike is a night and day difference from before, well worth the money and labor.
i'm using a similar "E" type harley cam. they claim that the e type was designed to work well with the fuel injected harleys. they got it really right. i'm using the 259-e cams and they really turn on throughout the rev range. surely you're going to remove the ina cam bearings and swap them out for the timken/torringtons, right? while you got it torn down it'd be a good idea to do this also.
SoCalH-D good to hear about your view on the cams i'm waiting for mine to turn up from the states so i can get them fitted only another week to wait i hope then get fitted

What are "all the right things" you have done to your Harley for your feelings on 259e's? Any dyno numbers by chance? Both the newer e cams are for fuel injection as you are aware. It's a great to see some are very happy with the results. A few others are not so fond of them ( maybe not the right stage 1 mods-compression). I have been on the fence and waiting to pull the trigger on 254e's. The TW555 are my top choice after a lot of research. But that could change.
After the research I did, I cannot think of one company that did more R&D on their cam package. The 254e will be more than enough for 95% of the people out there, I am very impressed with the power delivery and the power under the curve all the way to the TOP. I suspect that others results may be based on the package the are adding WITH the cams, just as mentioned above.
