I have a 2010 Road King and want to ad a helmet lock to it, where do most of you mount the lock, Some install on bag guards, some on down tube near engine, some on engine guard, What your thoughts? Thanks
rt side rear crash bar, before you snug it up, check and make sure it doesn't interfere with your bag lid opening or closing. I put mine right about where that decal is, ( i remove the decal)
the right side mount "may" save the bike from a tip over if it is hit in a busy parking lot ( the jiffy stand protects from falling to the left) - the ones that attach the helmet to the bars make the bike "wider"- maybe more likely for someone to get snagged ( think main street sturgis)
if you need to remove, you can buy a bit set ( maybe harbour freight) the "bowtie" bit will remove the security screw.

I put mine on the engine guard top left side. The helmet hangs down on the back of the guard and doesn't hang out any wider than the rest of the bike. It's a full face and it works for me
Left side engine guard lock facing front, just high enough when the bike is on the side stand that my fullface helmet hangs about 3-4 inches from the ground, I also replaced the oneway screws with allen heads, easier to remove and if somone wants my helmet that bad I guess their going to get it. I use it all the time just to hang my helmet I figure it's better than rolling off the bike or falling from the handlebars and denting my tank.

From: Annemasse (border of Geneva-Switzerland) facing Mt-Blanc.
I have two helmet locks, one on top of each engine guard.
I also use the right lock to attach the disk brake lock reminder coil (yellow spiral); my disk brake lock is made from two pieces and the plastic coil acts as a slingshot that shoots the shackle across the garage when I attach it to the handle of the front brake
