Yes Another windshield thread!
Hi all - came across this thread and thought I'd respond. Every Clearview Shield is DOT approved and stamped as such in the lower corner. Our DOT # is 455.
Clearly on this video, they are NOT using DOT approved acrylics, they are probably using the cheapest "Home Depot" type acrylic to prove a point. Our windshields will NOT respond the way the acrylic in the video does.

ANSI testing for motorcycle windshield DOT approval does not include any kind of certified impact resistance test, like the old Free Falling Steel Dart Test.

Hmmm...sort of reminds me of Amsoil website claims...NC sure is going to push their products on their website
I've run a Memphis Shades for a few years on my VTX and while it has not had a boulder thrown through it or shots from a handgun or a shotgun but has held up pretty well...come to think of it , if you are having someone fire a handgun or shotgun at you while on your bike you have a lot bigger problems going on that's for sure!
