Exhaust flange retaining ring upgrade

fabrik8r,
I know it’s been awhile since you posted this. Are the spiral retaining rings still working for you?
I have my Rineharts off again for other work and going through my old take-off retaining rings, all are bent. Yes I always torque to spec. Ran across this post and thinking, there has to be a better retaining ring than OEM.
Also I see Harley did something about the exhaust ring clamps bending, the new 65328-83A has a lot more metal in the weak area than the old 65328-83. As far and exhaust nuts, I changed over to Stage 8 Locking Fasteners years ago and never worry about the nuts backing out – stage8.com.
Thanks!

I think these are the same thing. I have ordered chrome and stainless bolts/acorns and a wolo from this seller to get the shipping deal.

The McMaster-Carr link is still valid. I just ordered eight rings (having bench stock is nice, I always order extra small consumables).
International customers should ask their local machine shops to find an equivalent or (better) study local industrial suppliers since McMaster don't ship globally.

Every mechanic and serious hobbyist should familiarize themselves with their country's industrial supply houses and take care to learn part terminology. Example spiral retaining ring info: https://www.smalley.com/retaining-rings/spirolox
