i have a '97 ultra, i just bought a 2-up rack. can't think of the number off the top of my head, but the last part of the docking kit that i think i need is -96 it says that it fits all models except the fhthcui, well that is what my bike is. i,m thinking that it will work because istripped mine down. no tour pack or antenna in the way, am i right?

Your 2 up luggage rack is probably #53743-97. The docking kit you mentioned is likely #53803-06 because it does indicate not fitting your bike, the FLHTCUI. This kit is the forward kit whereas #53804-06 is the rearward docking kit. They can both be installed to work with eachother, giving you a total of 4 docking points on each side. With that set up you can fit any accessory HD offers. I don't know what the deal is with your bike and I'm new to Harley and don't know the numerous model numbers the catalog cites. At this time I can't locate a docking kit that would be compatible with your bike because the other two options in the catalog (2 point and 4 point) are for 09 and later bikes. However, I have had the occasion where the book may indicate one thing in terms of fitting something and its entirely different in reality. What is so different about your bike that it falls outside the requirements for fitting both above docking kits #53803 and 53804? If you moved things out of the way and there are bolt holes in the appropriate places (likely), maybe as you say the kits may now fit. If you want to have the ability to have both the 2 up luggage rack and the sissy bar on at the same time you have to install both kits, otherwise for just the 2 up luggage rack you will need to install #53804-06.
