I just bought a 2011 RKC IN Silver Pearl with the chrome wheels, traded in my '08 FXD. The bike is being shipped this week. I am starting out with the new Harley HID headlight and lamps & Bright *** Lights in the rear. I got the last set of HID's at this dealership and was told they are now on back order. I rented various bikes with the exception of the great "Fugly" - the Road Glide (was not available), which I like by the way. I really loved the King and don't really care about music, that was the clincher.
Thanks to all on this forum for the advice and guidance. 10-12" bars, seat and slipons are next. Also, anyone on here with an '11 have alarm issues with the Bright *** Lights? Thanks.
Had unseasonably warm weather in NY Friday. My scoot arrived and they got her on the lift and ready in a hurry. Installed the Harley HID headlight & lamps, and BAL-1 in the rear. My first time on a 103 & ABS. Much different than the '10 FLHRC. Has the great handling but pulls much harder. I was also impressed with the stock seat.
I tested the HID's on rural country roads at night, they are unreal. You can not outrun this setup. I know it is a lot of money, but you have to get the lamps not just the headlight. The width and brightness of the beam keeps you from being suprised at night. And the Bright *** Lights, are just that. Great product. More mods to come. Safety first, now performance.
Congrats on the new king. I also traded my dyna for an '11 RKC. Have been able to ride it every day weather permits since I got it. Amazingly better ride than the dyna (... for how I ride that is). I bet you'll put more miles on the King over the same period you had your Dyna.
Good luck tailoring it out. I did some minimal stuff like backrest, grips and nostalgic bag bars. I'll wait after break in to address how much I want to do with exhaust. What are you considering?
Dog, Right back at ya. That Root Beer paint job is sweet my dealer had one. Like you after break in, I will conisder V&H or Rinehart. I also like the Supertrapp slip-ons.
Congrats on the new King. My bike also came in that color but, the dealer put a numbered paint set on it. I now have 2 paint sets (came with the bike) but, that color is striking.
Congrats! You are making me jealous with the pics. I have ordered a 2011 FLHRC in brilliant silver, but won't be in until April. I'm still trying to decide on wheels. Did you see a big difference in the chrome aluminum wheels (I haven't been able to see them in person)?
