the craftsmanship is awsome. I am assuming you turned them on a faceplate on a lathe?

Thanks ya'll --

Wilburt - Ipe is awesome stuff. Lasts forever, and you sure do spend the money for that lifespan-- but you only do it once.

bellgnte -- thats ok - Chrome or black is nice, but it's been done to death... I'm weird and different anyway, woodworking and my Harley are passions of mine, so why not ?

Steve, yeah I turned 'em on my Jet lathe. No face plate tho. Those things cost money. I fabbed up a redneck pin chuck and went to work.

Stopped and picked up a piece of black/white ebony today and a stick of birds eye maple for the next piece for the bike---and I got a piece of dark walnut gifted to me for another bike part <grin>

I have to make another timing cover - A friend in SoCal wanted the one I made, so back to the bench I go.

I'm going to make a different air cleaner cover too - I found a very nice burled piece of cypress (even better than the one on the bike already) so I am dying to see what comes out when I start peeling back the layers.

Stay tuned--

.

Very nice work indeed. Its good to see that others here also enjoy making sawdust out of perfectly good wood!

You have got me thinking about trying an ebony dash insert.
