I am about to install the stage I air cleaner, I know that I need a software upgrade because I also have V&H slip on muffs. One service manager wants $900 for this n dyno! WTF! Another told me that it's a simple fuel map change n no dyno needed. Not sure who is correct. Any opinions?
did the dealer mention a Screaming Eagle tuner with dyno time for that price even if he did thats high. call fuel moto about adding a tuner with correct map for your set up,
You don't need anything. I've got 2010EGC with reinhart
slip-on and stage one air. Runs great. No ping. No decel pop. Put on the stage one and see how she runs. Honest dealers will tell you you don't need the download...unless you want to up the RPM limiter. Everyone on here will tell you you can do one but not both. Misinformed. My runs great. See how it runs for a few hundred miles and then decide if you want to throw away $139.99 plus labor.

As suggested above, give consideration to a tuner.
Spider says we are misinformed but look at it this way...add a good tuning device and be out some dollars but have a better running machine. Skip the tuner and hope the motor doesn't burn itself up.
Of course if it does burn up, I'm confident Spider will make it good

For that kind of money I would call Fuel Moto and get a canned map and be done. Then if you make any other engine mod you can get another canned map free of charge.
2 different service guys 2 different answers! One wanted $900 for a tuner, n dyno time, the other says it's not necessary, the bike will adjust on it's own. He did tell me if I want every bit of Hp n torque the tuner will be the way to go. So my next step is emailing Jamie at fuelmoto.
