You might not notice it but it is there as HD built it that way. Like the other poster a well tuned cable bike will make you notice. It probably does not bother most but it does me. I just ordered a mastertune so hopefully I can get rid of it.

Okee Dokee! Montana is a big place ..... I've got a buddy that lives in Coeur d'Alene and I've passed through your neck of the woods a couple of times. You are right, it ain't the end of the world but you can damn near see it from there!

I definetly have throttle lag but I am coming off a well tuned carb that responded instantly to throttle input. If it works I will gladly pay $180 to have direct control over throttle input. I won't buy it tho until i see an independent review.
I'm in 100% agreement with you. There's a lot of ignorance in this thread.

I don't know if I would call it ignorance but until some one rides a "properly" tuned bike they just don't know what they are missing.

HD in Spokane has a dyno..... I will know how well they tune with it in a 1000 miles or so when my RK is broke in. Definitely a market here for a good tuner though, and depending
where in Montana, it's a ride for sure for a dyno tune.

I'd like to open a tuning shop, I just lack $$$ to open one and hire a good tuner guru to work
the magic.

Unless they recently hired someone to tune they don't know how. I was in there last year and the tuner who they had got a bike dropped on him and hurt bad while running the dyno. I asked what kind of dyno it was and the guy told me it was frankenstien dyno that he put together using various dyno 100, 150 parts and at that time did not have any way to check afr nor a dyno room it was just set up in the shop area. Hopefully that has changed with Lonewolf taking over but still would need a new dyno from what they had. I have looked hard for a tuner within reasonable distance and even went to Latus in Portland only to find that Mike Stegmann no longer spends time tuning. I had made an appoint with him because I knew he was good but got there and some 20 year kid did some base line runs was all.

Some tuners have throttle progressivity functions that can be adjusted in the map if needed.
