1994FLHR Carb. Hey new guy here. I replaced my speedo with a new in the bag unit and have found a lighted socket on the lowerer left face on the spedo that lights with a red "P". The part numbers on the sealed box and bag are correct according to two Phx dealers. My bike is a carb model, could this light be for a injected model?
Thanks,Clydeman in PHX

I'm not sure but I think it may be used for police models to indicate Pursuit Mode. I'm sure others will either confirm or correct me.
Capt caveman is correct. It was used for the red and blue lights on the police bikes. I think they gave you the wrong one if your bike is not a police model.

How hilarious! You need a "P" on the speedo??? What about all those flashing blue lights and sirens going on-and-on? Is that not enough to indicate "pursuit mode?"
I guess they will need a "D" light on the dash next...
Doesn't the pursuit mode indicator refer to the red and blue flashing lights independent of the siren? I would think that during the day with siren already off it would be nice to have a reminder to shut your flashers off if you forgot.
Welcome to the Forums- lots of good advice, Pals and smart2$$es here!
Pretty sure '95 was first year for EFI anyway.
If you are newer to H-D, the last 2 digits in part numbers denote the year in which that part was introduced- letters ( A,B,C) are for revisions if any.
Parts introduced may retrofit to earlier models ( especially if trim pieces).

I think the "Pursuit" answer is good. I ran the VIN and HD part numbers, this is the correct speedo. Like it was posted, it's probally a generic replacement. One wire fix would suit all models. The "Poser" was a good answer also!
Thanks to all
