If you're like me I get your point
Love the RK looks
Love the freedom feeling of full vision on the front (vs the bat wing sticking on your lower sight)
think about summer and RK feels good with the air hitting your body (and face if you take out the detachable windshield)

On the other hand there's an unbeatable looks and feel of a full dresser, that when thinking on longer trips and winter days then the plus for comfort, wind and rain protection gives a plus to the ultra
The tour pack. You can add it to the RK but looks far better and more balanced on the ultra.

70 bucks a month, my friend, once you have it you will either way spend that (or more) the first 60 months buying stuff for your new baby.

And about the reply from SCJ about the road glide, he's correct
The first time I saw a road glide I kind of rejected the fairing looksn so I always sticked to the looks of the road king and electra
However, last week when I picked my brand new wide glide, there was a beautiful dark metallic color road glide ultra.
Decided to sit on it.
Heeey it feels way roomier
Sit on a road glide for a few minutes and then switch into street glide or electra and you will feel confined with the instruments literally on your face (compared to the feeling of amplitode on the road glide) the fairing on the electra is held right next to your hands, while the road glide's is hooked to the bike and is far from your face
Have heard that wind protection is superb on the wide glide
And now I happen to like the looks of the fairing.
My wife simply felt for the road glide, so I have a new bike in my garage and a new bike on my mind to be aquired soon!
And the price of the road glide ultra seems unbeatable (just a few grand above the road king classic (which I was willing to buy)
And can't compare the
The road glide much more of a bike in terms of protection, accesories, etc. It virtually has everything to begin touring (including the 103 engine)

Good luck and let us know the result

Like I said I really liked the looks of the Road king. But no tour pack. No radio. Now the limited on the other hand has the tour pack, which i actually like, and a radio of course. I also like the idea of the full fairing out front even though I like the look of the road king better. Now Im 30 years old. Im not concerned about the old man look. But if I did get the road king im kinda afraid I would kick myself for not getting the radio and well all of the goodies with the limited. And my arm position feels better on the limited. another plus of the road king is about a $70 less a month payment. Man i just dont know what to do.

When it comes down to it I dont think i can go wrong. Id have a harley in the garage.

tganks for allowing me to vent,

Erik,
I'm now 42 years young, not an old man by no means. On my 30th birthday, I rode away from my local HD dealer with a brand new 98 Fat Boy. I felt like a king that day, the happiest day of my life. Well, soon enough, my best bud bought a 2000 Heritage Softail, and we started racking up the miles. Soon the stock seat was tossed, a window was added, different bars, and the motor was hopped up. All in all, the bike never let me down. Kept it for 10 years, until I rode a brand new Street Glide. Once again, I felt like a king. Once you go to a fairing and hard bags, and a radio, you won't go back; atleast I won't. Had I known now what I know today, there would be an Ultra in my garage. If you can afford it, go for the Ultra brother, you won't regret it. Good luck with your decision...
Joe

Although it costs about the same, or maybe a little more, you can do what I did.

I like the sporty look of the Street Glide but wanted to be able to haul stuff when I travel so I got the removable Tourpak.

I know the Classic or Ultra might have given me more features for the same $$$, but I liked the cleaner lines, no badging, and no bag rails look of the Street Glide.

Congrats on your decision!

Reading through your first post my thoughts were the same as JRBass "This guys already made his decision he just hasn't figured it out yet???" The biggest thing is to get the bike that speaks to you and offers you the most in your mind. Either one you couldn't go wrong as they're both great bikes but i think the King woulda left you questioning... and that isn't where you want to be while paying off a 20k (+/-) debt.

Hope you love it!

Buy the Limited. I wanted the Limited last year and settled for the 2010 Electra Glide Classic. It was a nice bike but wasn't all I wanted so I traded it in January for the 2011 Limited. I got a very good deal on trade so I made out OK but I would have made out better if I would have bought the Limited in the first place. You will like the full fairing over just the windshield, I know I do. I never take the tour pack off, it's too convenient just to throw all your stuff in there and take off. There is a noticeable difference between the 96" motor and the 103" motor too. Check out the 2 tone Root Beer, looks very cool in the sun.

Erik, Nothing to be sad about bro. The important thing is that your going to be riding. Does'nt matter if it's a sporty or decked out dresser, just get out there and ride. We all get caught up in the " wish I could get this one, or that one is just a little more money, get what you're comfortable with and go from there. If down the road things are good financially, maybe you could trade up. Good luck...
