I would have a hard time trusting a suction cup. This mounting was dirt cheap - I think $24.00 for the Ram Ball and 3" Ram Arm and puts it right in the middle and up high so that you can just glance down to see it. With the cigarette lighter adaptor it can be taken off & on in less than a minute.
I can post the part #'s if anyone wants.

Now you see it
Now you don't
That's what I want. I plan on keeping my bike for at least 3-5 more years, so a hole in the fairing ain't no big deal to me. That's what they make small push in plugs or chrome screws for. LOL...Thanks, the part numbers would be great. I see the stud mounts on the RAM website, but ain't sure which one I needed.
I have handle bar mount , use the cig lighter for power for now. I used Mount guys cause I have a 5" Tomtom with water proof holder. Ram mount hasen't made a specific configuration for my model. I like it. The only problem is when the sun is directly on it, tuff to see.
I like the aforementioned ball mount on the dash. I may try that later.
Cannot see the back, I will try to get more pictures. 39 cents is what I have into this mount. Took the supplied mount cut off square just in front of the suction cup. Inside was already hollow, increased size to accomodate a threaded adapter (that is where I spent the 39 cents) that had screw threads on the outside and machine threads on the inside. Put a little JB Weld on the inside screwed the adapter in, drilled a small hole in the fairing where there was already extra support on the inside. Grooved out a small space between the windshield and the fairing for the cable. Been there 2 years and not a problem. When the gps is off you just slide the wire into the fairing and all that is left is a smaal mount and the conntector on the end of the wire. I will try to take more pics.

As another possible option, here is the handle bar ball mount that I use for a basic Garmin 760. The mount comes with the little gizmo that you see in the last two pics. It adheres to the back of the GPS unit and allows you to use a safety zip tie. To be honest, the ball mount alone is secure enough for me.
Hi there,
I am looking for exactly this Mount, but seem to be unable to find it. I read is some posts that it would be on eBay, but what would I need to search for?
If anyone would have a link to this item and a vendor who would mail to Germany, it would help to avoid me googling forever
Cheers Jens

Reason: Typo
You didn't mention what type of GPS, but if it is a RT Zumo, then I would suggest the HD Zumo mount, #92238-09 @ 39.95 rtl. It will mount the zumo on the dash very nicely. The only problem some may have with the mount is, it doesn't fit with the tweeter pod, or three bags, but for factory looks it's wonderful, and not that costly. If you would like son=me pics of it, just say, and I will post some.
Also if it is the Zumo 660/665, you may want to consider the interface also, which is nice, a little pricey, @ 149.95 #76000024, but nice. It connects the GPS to the HK radio and mutes it when commands are spoken or sends them accross your headset if you use one. It also sends stereo XM or Mp3's from the Zumo to the radio, instead of Mono like the Aux connection does.
I actually installed the iPod module, RT interface and the mount all at the same time, since I had the fairing off anyway, and I love them.

I like the look of this mount. My only concern is the weight of a Garmin Zumo is approx 50% more than a Garmin 760. Anybody use this type of mount with a Garmin Zumo 660/665?
