This is the handlebar mount I use on the Ultra. Comes with the hardwiring. Only thing I had to do was once that I had the swivel ball positioned I drilled a hole through the ball and holder and pinned it so it would not move.

Hutch4, Do you have pictures of your handlebar mount or anyone else have pictures of your handlebar mount and also how you routed your wiring?

I have the 660 installed using the Ram handlebar mount. I wired it up myself by connecting to the cigar lighter. I also put in an in-line fuse as recommended on a gps forum. The whole job took less than 1 hour.

Here is a StreetPilot 2720 with a RAM mount. The power plug is proprietary so rather then drop another $50+ on a cable, I just cut the ends of a 2-1 lighter adapter and tied it in of the battery. Then ran the cable under the tank.

rocstar50, I would really like to see a picture of your set up. So, to wire the gps,all I have to do is plug it into the cigar lighter. Is that all?

I use an $80 Tomtom on a Ram mount. Call me cheap, but I can throw away a lot of $80 GPS's before I spend the money Harley wants. And the Tomtom works pretty good.

I'm working for the next three days so will try to get some pictures for you on Wednesday. When I say I wired it to the cigar lighter, I meant to explain that I wired it to the back of the cigar lighter using two blade connectors (well thats what they are called on this side of the pond) - small plastic connectors. I just connected the the live wire from the Garmin loom to the live wire of the cigar lighter and the earth wires the same. I did put a low amp fuse in line, just in case. The job required the removal of the batwing fairing but that was an easy job as it only needs seven screws undone and the headlight plug disconnected. There is a good explanation of this on www.zumoforums.com. I hope this is of some help.

I have the zumo 550 also and when I bought the mount I wanted the faring month just because it looks better to me than the handle bar mount also with the bar mount it is in the way when you put gas in the tank if the bars are turned. As far as installing I did the install my self it took me about 1 to 2 hours but only because I took my time doing it
