What's to consider!
63, you're not old. I rode a Fatboy till almost 57. 3 months before my 57th, I bought myself an 11 RKC. Best move I could've made.

You'll love the versatillity too...a great touring ride, of course, and the next minute a classic cruising ride! Sundowner is my seat of choice, and the stock bars gotta go too. Ride it around a bit if they'll let you, that bike will let you know if it's right or not. Good luck sir.

Go for it. You'll love it. Its great around town, to the cafe, or on the great open road. I like mine more than any of the several other Harleys I've owned.

There's a 2007 CVO Springer and a 2011 Deluxe in the garage right now - along with a ton of other bikes - but my go-to ride is the 2010 King. Absolutely wonderful.

I'm also 63yo. My last Harley was a 07 FLHT STD & I just traded it for a 2011 FLTRX 103. I really like the new frame. It sounds like a great deal. I'm sure you'll like the way it rides & handles.

I just bought a Brand New Electra Glide Classic and I have to say the RK is the best bike in the HD stable, It will do everthing you need from it.

You are a little older then me and you will remember that back in the day the Harley had problems, well these babies will do 100,000 no problem as long as you do the maintenance on it.

Hey I love my Classic but the RK still is the best in their line-up.

Also I bought a Sundowner and then had Mean City Cycles do the seat the right way with Memory Foam and they cut it to get me lower to the ground and put my legs closer to the tank!
Those Guy's are the BEST at making a seat COMFORTABLE !!! They do not cost alot at all.

I did a little homework, it is a Road King Classic. It has leather covered bags and the whitewalls have been replaced with blackwalls. I thought the Classic had the larger motor but I think the 96 must have been standard in '09.

Thanks

Went from a Guzzi to a Softail Deuce about ten years ago didn't really like the ride. I sold it, since then I have had a Triumph Speed Triple and a Ducati Monster. Over the holiday season this year I ended up with a Dyna Super Glide Sport that I got for next to nothing from a friend who never rode it. I ride to work almost everyday (15 highway miles) and thought the Dyna was great around town but a little small for the highway. I was at the dealer to get some parts, and a used RKC caught my eye. Well after a short road test. I left the Dyna there, that I only owned for 3 weeks. I haven't gotten off the RKC since. Road Kings are in my opinion the only Harley that I have ridden, that can do it all well. If I had purchased the RKC 10 years ago I would still have it.

The 96 was std in 09. I have a Classic, but I changed from spokes and tubes to tubeless and hard bags. This bike can be anything you want it to be.
