Default Friggin Switch Seized in Fork Lock Position

Sumbeech would not unlock, thanks to the forum I read some ideas, took the outer fairing off, was able to remove the two allen screws that hold the switch to the upper tree, 1/8 turn at a time with a shortened allen wrench. The handlebar clamp had it bolcked in, when I pryed on it a little I broke the lower plastic piece that houses the lock pin, would have come out undamaged if I just removed the bar clamp. Oh well there is a service bulletin out to replace the whole lock mechanism, hopefully I can get a dealership to honor it.

I did get the switch out last night and took it to my local dealership to see if they could help. Well here is the list of reasons why my switch is not covered under the service bulletin M-1190.
1. Would have to see the damaged switch on the bike
"I have pics"
2. Your problem is in the top half of the switch, the bulletin only covers the bottom half with the fork lock pin.
"the top key lock portion works fine"
3. The Bike is out of warranty
"I have a total of 6 or 7 years warranty, either way not expired"
4. The service bulletin expired
I later verified with another service dept that the service bulletins expire with the original factory 2 year warranty, extended doesn't matter.

So it's legitimately my problem now. I'm glad I went the route I did instead of trying to wrestle my bike with locked forks into a truck or trailer and take it to them, so they could charge me 6 hours labor just to tell me I still had to pay for it anyway. I did only need the lower half, it was in stock, and it was only $50.00.
The good news is if you do get stuck in the fork lock position with the key lock portion of the switch still connected, you can pull the fairing cap, radio, and handlebars and get the switch out, WITHOUT DAMAGING IT, by removing the two allen screws holding it to the upper tree. once I got it off the bike the upper half released, and I was able to remove it from the lower inner fairing. No other damage to anything else, just a lot of stuff to remove.
