I've been trying to get a clear answer on this too, I think it might depend on the pipes.

Yes

Header pipes changed in 1995.

Post 1995 mufflers will slip on all headers back to about forever.

Mufflers for 94 and earlier will not fit on 1995 and later header pipes.

In general, the aftermarket has followed this guideline.

The change is in a notch on the 94 earlier...

I pulled my fave mufflers from the 1995 Bagger and put them on the 2009.
