For the Wild Ones, they say you don't need to change brake line, but you should. You'll need to take some of the bend out of the stock rigid line to make it work. Not very pretty. It's ridiculous what they charge to change bars. Like others have said, try adjusting the stock bars first.
---Will find a good local indy to consult, maybe do
---will look at the bars you recommended, and extending clutch cable with harness...
I've got a lot of work to do, and I'll check back to this thread often for leads, all starting this morning.
I've always loved my dealership, but this time they kinda left me hanging with this handlebar thing. But it makes perfect sense that they might not be expert at some things, or that they may charge more than a competitor may.
And maybe I could save some money with a good indy.
Question: Will working with an Indy void my warranty? The bike is only a few months old, with about 1,000 miles on it.

I went to my dealer to price out the install of the HD pull back Bars.
With bars, clutch, brake, and labor. 750.00 No way for a set 150.00 handlebars. He pointed me to a set of bars made by Klock Works Called the Pull Back Ergos. same pull back as the HD bars, but the bars are more straight so you won't have the bent wrist action. list for 269.00 But none of the other stuff is needed. so that would cut labar cost down a little. You have the Limited which has internal wiring. Mechanic told me HD requires the longer stuff more for liability than must have for function. http://www.kustombaggers.com/Back-de...atalogId=-1750
Klockwerks ergo back bars. You will NOT need to lengthen any cables or wires. You can run the wires inside or outside the bars. These bars are very comfortable.
Just a thought, you might try what I did. Pull the ignition, lower cap to bear the riser. You can get to the first two bolts. Loosen and bump the bars up. This will bring them in & back, might just be enough. If this works for you all you have to do is reposition the controls. Just my two cents.
Yeah, everyone is so fast to replace things, try adjusting what you have first.
Just installed Wild One Wo575's today. Raining, so could not test drive. I am no HD tech, but I have about 8 hours invested in the install. Lots of stuff that had to be removed just to get to the risers. Anyways, not sure how long your arms are, but these bars are 2 inches taller, 2 inches wider and 2 inches closer to the driver. NICE! Top quality bars, you get what you pay for. I have no radio or speakers in my fairing, so was able to pull out clutch cable and re-route under the glovebox instead of behind everyting. Had just enough length to work. One more inch and no way!
I used the Harley pull backs (56176-08). Put them on myself and only needed to change the clutch cable (because I wanted to run it through the fairing with the factory routing.). Just took a 2+ hour ride today and no problem with the wrist angle, which I was concerned about after reading posts complaining of this. I have arthritis in my wrists, so I was VERY happy. The Harley pullbacks were the only ones I could find that were not wider than the factory SG bars. I needed to keep the bars narrow because I wanted to use the SG fairing mount mirrors. I'm very happy!
If you end up going with WO's have an Indy do the job. Most I know charge $25.00 an hour and unless you are an illiterate idiot there is no way the job could take 10 hours. I had chubby bars put on my Road King and think I paid a C note for the job....
