No experience with the III but remember to check the year the tire was manufactured. Some sit on the shelf a long time and may be the reason they are such a good price. Check out this site for a good explanation of the codes:

I don't think they have been out long enough to worry about date codes.

I got 14,000 out of my first rear E3, mostly riding two up and pulling a trailer, my front was put on at the same time and now has over 17,000 miles on it. When I ordered my rear last spring,I had to wait two weeks to get it. It now has 3,000+ on it and shows no wear. You won't be sorry. The only thing I have noticed is a little road noise, but hell just turn up the sounds and go enjoy not worrying about them wearing out in 5-7,000 miles.

Can't remember where I got my EIII's but had the pair shipped to the door for I believe 208 and change. Like said handle great and have been in plenty of rain with them. Had an Indy put them on for $50.00. I love them and hope they don't stop making them!!!!

I have 9000 miles on my elite III's and I'm getting ready for a new rear tire. No complaints but the rear tire will not go over 10,000 miles. I rate it slightly better than the original Police tire and the Metzler 880 for wear, the front is noisier at 50 MPH than the Police tire.

I just bought an E3 front tire from "jakewilson.com" for 91 bucks and a Michelin Commander rear for 59 bucks with free shipping. The front is a 72H and the rear a 77H.

Does an E3 come in MU8516 ? If not the what size do you use on an 08 RK? Does it work out with a mix and match combo of stock front an an E3 rear. Can't seem to kill my stock front tire.....23K and plenty left.

I have replaced the MU85-16 with a 140/90-16 on my previous bikes with no problem.

To think that the E3 is (or was) run as OEM tires on Honda's before I heard of them. LOL

But I still run 'em, and like 'em!
