I would say not. I bought a set from the dealer in 08 and they have been fine. No issues with the dealer. Slip-ons them self do not alter the bike a whole lot in the way performance until you start increasing airflow. You also do not need to re-map your ecm for simple muffler changes. (But we all know you won't stop there...heh! heh!) Plus, you can always swap back to the stock pipes if the dealer becomes an a$$. Just my 2c worth.

Keep all the stock equipment. Makes since to sell it and put the $ towards new goodies, but I learned the hard way that when it comes to trade-ins and warranty, best to have the stocker equipment on hand.
