I haven't had any issues with mine. You're gonna love it. Some say you'll never take it off, but I disagree. I love the lines of a SG with stock seat too much. The wife does love the arms and extra back support. Go for it and enjoy!

Hey LMmarine86, does the tourpak give your wife more room than the backrest you have in your signature picture? I have a tourpak on order and am hoping for more room (my wife too) than we have now with just a regular backrest.

She says it does. Also, a tip when yours comes in. There are two different screw settings for the base plate. Most dealers install it on the most forward setting. To get another inch for the lady, either tell them you want it on the further back setting or just re-do it yourself. Four acorn nuts - VERY simple. My wife is small, but now she can lay a book flat in between us while on the bike. (yeah, she reads on long trips haha).

Thanks for the info. I'm afraid that my wife and myself can't be that small. I will be installing myself and already have the detachable mounting plate and I notice the extra holes for mounting on it.
If your wife can add a book between the two of you, then I think we should be alright. You guys never stop cracking me up. Riding with a book between you.

My wife does the same thing...in 2 years, she's gone from someone who wouldnt sit on the bike if the key was even in the ignition to someone who reads novels on the back to pass the time...she even told me one time she had a little shuteye back there
