Keep us posted on how it turns out for you. I plan on getting a King pack in the near future.

I love my detachable tour pal on my 06 flhx I also have a rack system that mounts to the wall in my garage that the tour pak mounts to when not on the bike. It keeps it up out of harms way

Mine came with one allready on it. I have not had any issues with it. The only time I have taken it off is to wash the bike. I pull the pack and the bags when I wash her up. I really like having the storage of the trunk. I will give it a spin without it some day soon. I wasnt able to ride it much since I bought it. Da*n snow!! but riding season is upon us.

I like having the detachable TP. The wife did say that there is less room than with the backrest. I relocated the TP to the back 4 holes. Gained 1-2"

UPDATE:

I got the King Tour Pak yesterday. Mounted backrest, barrel lock, tour pak to the detachable mount, and installed on bike in under an hour. Very basic and easy to do. Haven't had the bike (or wife) for a ride with the tour pak yet. Should get a chance this weekend when the two of us are home.

Note: I ordered mine from Lake Shore and was advise 6 to 8 weeks because I was ordering a specific color. They sent me a tracking number last Friday. Exactly 4 weeks to the day that I ordered it. Arrived on Tuesday from Illinois to Delaware. Saved close to $170 on the price compared to the local dealers around here. Also got free shipping. I'm happy with Lake Shore and will deal with them again.
