ok, i am a 33 years old green beret. i recently stepped on something i shouldnt have, while on a mission in afghan land. i am now at Walter Reed with no feet. i own 2 road kings, and still wanna ride. once the give me some Forrest Gump "magic legs" i will be mobile, but shifting gears is gonna be an issue.
i already bought a pingel electronic shifter. and i think that will help a ton, but...... it doesnt get to neutral. so i think a suicide shift would help me find neutral with my hand in a much safer (oddly) manner.
question: where can i buy a kit? i been looking online, i google searched all over, and i searched this sight. found lots of home made stuff for older bikes, but nothing that fit my needs.
Well, I wish I had some answers for you. All I can say is thank you so much for your service. Truly make me feel lucky to come back with just a torn rotator cuff.
wishing you All the Best Forward ... & Thanks For Your Service
I watch reruns of 1950's Highway Patrol ... and the cops & bad guys all drive suicide shift ... fun watching them pop the clutch (literally) ! & doing burnouts ...
If there's a qualified answer - this forum has it - in time - maybe try the other sections - the CVO Forum is top notch as well
The LA Jockey Shift kit is the standard of the industry. It's made by LaBriola Machine in Denver. Rick, the owner, has built a few feature bikes for magazines. Dr. V Twin, a sponsor here sells them, and I believe Drew uses one himself. P.M Dr. V Twin and they'll fix you up.
Sorry about your feet man. I was a grunt back in the sixties. I have a couple of buds who wore the green beanie back in the day.

Sorry, but I just have to mention that your desire to "find a way" to keep riding is the ultimate example of a "true" biker. I've got mad respect for you and your love for riding. I hope you find a mod solution that works for you. I'm confident a custom bike builder could do some sort of mod like this.
