Check for codes first, it may tell you the CKP or CMP sensors are bad. It could also be the coil, which the crank & cam sensors are easier to change in my opinion. How mechaniclly inclined are you? Where about are you? I just put new ones in mine & the old ones are still good, I figured since it was a 99 & has 84000 miles it would not hurt to put new sensors in mine. If you are close to Colorado let me know. Good luck
IM in ohio. Was wondering if trying to start with charger on didnt do something
You can start it with the charger on it and it has no effect. If your engine light is not coming on it's not a sensor because the ecu would pick it up. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it's your coil.
My 01 roadking police is doing the same thing just got it home off the mesa here in western colorado, no spark ran fine stoped for a **** break statrted back up the road gunned it for a minute and then just died ,engine light comes on and no spark?

You posted in a year old thread. Probably would have been better to start your own. First, make sure you didn't hit the kill switch when you gunned it by accident. Is your bike injected or carbed? If injected check for codes, then disconnect the tuner if you have one, and try starting it with the bike going straight to the ecm.
did exactly that, unplugged the power commander, , need to check my codes next before i start ripping **** out [coil] sensors ect] any idea on how to manually check codes [i know it has something to do with power stater swith on and off in a particular sequence

Ignition off, run switch on, then push and hold in the odometer button.
Turn the ignition on and watch the odometer screen. "d01clr" should show. (The "clr" indicates clear/no problem with that code.)
Release and push the odometer button again to check 2, then 3 etc all the way to 10. Look for a code that doesn't show "clr" at the end.
Note: The Cal03 code at the very end is just signifying which speedo set up you have. Don't worry about that one.
