OK, so I am gonna sound like an idiot but I am having issues getting my FLTRU into neutral. This is my first Harley as I have always had Honda's in the past. Does anyone else have this issue? I know that their are a lot of guys that own FLTRU's in this forum so am advice would be helpful and appreciated...
I had the same issue with my RGC. Seems like a common problem until the tranny gets some miles on it. Mine has gotten better, but still worse than my old Lowrider.
Hey guy, I dont have an ultra but have a 10 rgc and after 6700 miles still have the same issue. I was told it would get better around the 1k service never happened. My buddies got a 11 rd king w/103 and he says his is hard to find also. I know it's no real answer but you are not alone. I'm gonna be bringing mine in again to complain about it and how sometimes on downshifting the shifter doesn't come up enough to catch the next gear. sorry for the rant Jim
Normally a new bike goes into neutral hard, most of the time it gets better with miles on the bike. Sometimes cable or clutch adjustment is needed. A good trans fluid like Redline Shockproof helps out.
Harleys don't shift as smooth as the foreign bikes. You have to be very aggressive shifting and since neutral resides in between gears. It is a little harder to find. It took me a while after riding Hondas for a long time to get used to the difference, but I don't have a problem now.
my 11 Limited only has 105 miles and i have a hard time also...took it back the first day and had the clutch adjusted...didnt help...
will see after the weather breaks and i can get some miles on it, and change trans to Redline or Spectro...
never had the problem with my 06 Ultra...and my 08 Crossbones shifts easy, and goes into neutral with no effort...and it has F+ in it...
I have Redline Shockproof in my tranny and it did not seem to help. It sure is frustrating trying to find neutral at intersections or pulling into my garage. Adjusting the clutch did not help either, I just deal with it.
Had the same problem with my 2010 SG. Couldn't find neutral for the life of me at stop lights but as I started getting more miles on the bike it seems to be getting a bit easier!
