The owners manual gives guidelines based on weight - best to experiment by changing pressure up or down to see what you like.

I have a 2008 with shortend shocks from Phoenix Customs and I run zero.
I'll ride with the wife and my bags full, I never bottom out!

I found out through trial and error, to have 45 psi in my shocks with wife and all the crap I carry in the saddle bags and trunk. Very pleased how it rides and takes bumps.

At 250# I run 30# all the time solo or 2up. GF and I together are around 400# Don't want to have to keep changing pressure everytime the GF wants to jump on. Works for me.

I ran into a guy at a PGR mission recently and noticed a dent in the front fender. Said he hit a nasty pothole and the front shock bottomed out. When I asked him about his PSI he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. Regardless of how I am riding with whatever weight I keep about 16 in the front and 17 in the rear. Works for me...

It has to be a bike pump for setting the bike fork pressure, not a tire pump.

I couldn't believe how much H-D was asking for a simple shock pump. I went to the local bicycle shop and bought a shock pump for less than half the price. It has all the same features of the overpriced H-D version except it doesn't have the H-D logo (I can live with that.).

With all most 85K on my 02 Ultra I run 10 to 15 pounds no matter what I have on the bike. I do prefer to run the rear tire at max pressure all the time as well. Seems like I get less tire wear that way.

The air in the front forks was discontinued years ago. My 2002 doesn't have it.

The 100% solution is said in one word..."Ohlins". Done.

But - on my '07 SG I ran 18-20lbs, on my '09 RK (different shocks) I used to run 38-40 lbs 2-up. I am 6'2" 270.

Yeah - Just experiment and you'll figure it out.
