Does anybody have any experience with these wind deflectors that snap onto the engine guards/turn signal lights and stop air from coming up from under the fairing? They are relatively new from Harley Davidson. I never thought about wind from under the fairing causing buffeting, but I do know that it's a fine line between a windshield working and one not working for individual Road Glide riders. Thanks.
Friend of mine had a 2009 roadglide !!
I had never rode one, and I noticed he had ear plugs in all the time, I ask why??
He said the wind noise !!
Hmmm ok one day we pulled of the interstate I said let me ride it to the next exit.
When I got up to speed I thaught what the hell, felt like someone was slapping me upside the head all the time. We got off the intertstate and down to 50 mph had the same slapping. When we finally stopped I got off his bike and said WTF that terrible.
He had never rode an ultra and he said WTF why is the wind lik that on the roadglide?
So he bought those deflectors no difference tried a few different shields!!
And then sold the bike..
I have never had the buffeting problem I am always hearing about, and I have had an EGC and now have a RG, I would like to know what it's like just to have knowledge. I must admit I changed my windshield 2 days after I bought my RG because the shield it came with was a complete joke to me, so I guess I got it right with the windshield.

What shield did you get? Took a couple tries to find the right one for my Street Glide...would like to NOT have that same problem if I switch to a Roadie.

They got me for me for a set. I had to take them off to do some other work and decided they weren't worth putting back on so now they're on a shelf in the garage.

I'll have to find the name, I bought off of e-bay for about $70, figured for what everybody else was asking what could I loose. I believe the place was in SC.
They don't block air but redirect it upwards to meet the air coming over the windshield which eliminates the low pressure area behind the windshield and removes most of the buffeting.
IF you run a little bitty windshield you're not going to see much of a difference, but if you run a large windshield it can help quite a bit.
just my $.02...Get yourself a Cee Baileys SSC shield with those HD deflectors...helped a ton. I went with a 14 inch Euro from Cee Baileys and I can ride 90mph+ and still hear my stereo.
