Having had all of the HD families I will say the tour class is the best ride hands down, followed by dyna, softail, sporty. The vibration of the tour bikes stop as soon as you get on the throttle, quite the opposite with the softails, the harder you push them the more your eyes want to pop out of their sockets from vibration. And the overall comfort is much better on the tour bikes. I'll never own a softail again.

Defiinatly Road King Standard. If he decides to ride to work or a overnighter and gets caught in the rain. his stuff will be kept dry. I still have regrets about moving up from a R-K to the Ultra. Hope he makes the right choice. Let us know
