I just went to the dealer and they get $30 for the primary gasket? This can't be
true. Did they have the wrong part #? $5 seems excessive, never mind $30.
What have others paid? I can't see ordering a gasket online, so I wanted to
get it locally.
That's exactly what I had to pay... And mine got bent (it's some sort of metal covered with gasket material) before I got it home (they just handed it to me and it's not real easy to keep completely flat, should have taken the cage to pick it up), so I had to get another one... So mine was actually $60....

how many times have you used the old one? i think i have had my outter primary off 5 or 6 times and still used the same gasket. if it doesn't leak and it came off nice and easy i would use it again.

Exactly. You can use them more than once if you don't damage them.
This will be my first time. I was planning on changing it everytime since I figured
they'd be cheap. Since they're $30 a pop, I'll probably only replace as needed now.
