I can't speak for everyone with the Windsplitter, I had the stock seat when I had that windshield, and it was terrible. I replaced it in the first week. I bought the tallest Windvest (in Gunsmoke) I could find. Made a world of difference. I like the windshield, except at night (a little dark), and probably will look for a lighter tint as a second windshield.
If any of you with the RGU want to off-load your stock windshield, I'd be willing to work something out with you.
thank you everone keep them coming..slacker if stock 16 u just looked over and 12 too low 14 might work since im 6'0 12 should be fine i guess but some say that splitter has alot of buffering
Bklyn - the problem is the stock shield top edge is right in the center of my line of vision. It's either squat a little to look through the shield or set upright to look over it. I have the bad feeling I'm going to end up with a bunch of windshields. On another note I had an 09 Street Glide and the stock 4" svcked very much. I put a 6.5" Clearview and it was wonderful so I am used to some buffeting.

Me too! I'm trying to decide if I should go with a slightly shorter one with recurve, or a slightly taller one and start getting used to looking through the shield while riding. I'd rather go with a shorter one with some kind of recurve, but I'm afraid I might end up with too much buffeting. Does anyone have any comparisons as far as the height of regular shield to the height of a recurve type shield when it comes to the same about or lack of buffeting.

After years of riding without looking through a shield I am set in my ways. I haven't really shopped since I got the HD shield but this weekend I will look to see what else is out there. I have to say it will probably be a Clearview in 14" neighborhood though.
ok everyone im a new 2011 RGU owner i have the stock windshield on the bike at this time.I would love to put a lower windshield and a darker one so it would look very nice on the silver.(thats the vision i see)i like a lower one for looks but a fuctional one also.i dont want repeat my issuses that i had with the roadking went with 3 different windshields before i was happy.im 6'0 tall and have the stock seat.i like the look of the HD wind splitter but dont know if it helps or works.what has everyone here with a roadglide has used likes and dislikes.that you
Here is a link to a youtube video that is just what I think your looking for. The info under the video says its available for the Road glide as well. Have fun shopping! http://www.youtube.com/user/ChromeWorldInc
At 6ft tall, I would recommend starting with a 12" WindVest Gunsmoke. Its a flip up shield, so it should work like a 14" non flip up shield. Depending upon how long your torso is, and your riding position (erect, slight slouch, big slouch), you could maybe go with a 14" WindVest Gunsmoke. Some RG owners run a 12" GunSmoke in the summer, and a taller shield in the winter.
Below are some links for you. The 1st one is to WindVest, and the 2nd one is to some windshield threads on the Road Glide Forum. Good luck.
Update- I put about a 125 miles on the bike yesterday with the HD wind splitter. What a piece of junk. I may as well have not even had a windshield on the bike. It's headed back to the dealer today and a Clearview Gt-Small smoked is ordered. Unless your short or want a lot of noise and wind in your face don't get the HD wind splitter.
I have tried many different windshields on my rg, the best by far is the windvest. Another plus with the windvest is it has plenty of room to clear your handelbars when they are turned to full lock. The cee baileys and clearview that I had would both contact the bars at full lock. I would suggest a WV 14" for the OP.
I love my Cee Baileys. I don't have to look throught it when riding I get NO air or buffetting and it is thick, well made, and well finished. Probably the best quality shield I have ever owned hands down. I would highly recommend you take a look at them they are well worth the investment.
