So I was messing around at the shop today and I was like I want to charge my iphone while I am putting around. However, I don't like wires all over the place it looks stupid IMO.
I had my charger plugged into my cigarette lighter and it worked fine but again the visible wires just don't look so good.
So I made a little wiring harness and connected it to a factory supplementary 12 volt power source.
Then I took my front fairing off and wired the harness to the inside of the faring and zip tied everything down so it looked clean. then ran the charging wire and the audio jack wire up by the wind visor and into my leather sunglass pouch where I keep my iphone.
The mod came out great. no more visible wires and I will always have a charged phone while I am putting around. Just thought I'd sure with y'all.
Just a piece of advice. I don't see a transformer in your harness. iPods/iPhones require that in order to prevent cooking the battery.
+1, Shouldn't put straight 12V on the iPhone plug, it needs to be pulled down to 5V
Now, if you really want to lose the sight of wires, do the mod to the HK radio that brings the AUX connection out the back of the headsey. MUCH neater again
