Hey guys hope you can help me out. I'm running the Hog Tunes system 3 way for freeway with the new amp and speakers also the tweeter bar. my problem is that when i start the bike it blasts thru the stereo loud and then hums till i shut down and turn bike off. this happens even if I turn the radio off prior to shut down seams like may need a filter or something. seems like radio is getting power surge at start up. is there a way to fix this.
Thanks for the help
My scoot will SOMETIMES make the same noise, but I am running the Big Ultra kit. Like yours, it will do it if the radio is on or off when starting the bike. It is aggravating to have to shut it down and restart it. Most of the time, on restart the symptom will go away. Pez told me that I may have a weak battery. Borrowed a friends load tester and the battery tested good. I put the tender back on for a day and the first time I started it, the flipping noise was there again.
Lately, the right channel on both front and rear speakers have some intermittent problem that acts like a possible loose connection. Sounds like the tweeters are cutting in and out. However, with the engine off it works great.
My plan is to remove the fairing and seat, then check for loose connections. I may completely disconnect the amp and go for a ride and see if that symptom returns.
Aside from the above issues, the Big Ultra kit rocks. Hope I find a loose wire or something...
Anyone else have an issue similar to the OP or the one I have??
Thanks guys I to have the big ultra setup. Think that ground suggestion is good advice. Will get back to you. Also I had speakers going out it was my lowers lose conection. Will check ground and get back to you. Thanks again guys.
