Well worth the $$$ & don't know why HD doesn't include the pump in touring maint. kit. Always adjusting mine for 1-up/2-up & you'll feel the difference. Other option is to swap shocks to non-air (progressive) which is much spendier than the $30 pump...

Makes a big difference...so easy to adjust the air pressure for solo or 2 up...I run 40lbs when wife & I travel...25 by myself...well worth the $$...don't wait any longer to get it.

I didn't really think the pump was tooooo expensive when compared to cost of most bicycle pumps. I priced out some of the better small, compact pumps for bicycles and they weren't that much cheaper in cost. I even have some since I ride road bikes. The Harley one works really well, is compact, and doesn't loose much air (if any) when removing compared to bicycle pumps which now days are set up for both schrader and presta valves (usually). Harley should be throwing it in for free in my opinion since they have the air shocks on the bikes and they could be easily damaged by someone using an air line from a compressor which is around 120psi.

As soon as we rid of this yucky weather and I can break my 10 SG in, I am going to get one from the dealer. And I agree that it should included with the purchase of the bike.

+ 1 to what emwolb says. As one who's battled this earlier, go ahead and get the HD pump. It's $50 at the stealer, but well worth it. Simple bicycle pumps don't work on later model baggers (mine's on '05), and I'm speaking from experience. The HD pump is durable and can be thrown in a side bag. It's amazing how easy it is to make quick adjustments with this pump. The zero loss system is a great feature.
