Default Installing strip between outer/inner fairing

When I took the inner fairing off and removed the black strip between it and the outer fairing, there was glue or adheisive keeping the black strip in place.

What did you guys use when putting it back together?

Dealership told me Super glue is all they use. Just use it lightly and apply it with a tooth pick...

Thanks...the old glue peeled off very easily. It was pliable, flexible and was easy to remove.

I would use a dab of silicone..Superglue has turned many a day bad when used on ABS like your fairing.

No no to the superglue. Silicone it or "Goop".

Super glue would be the last thing I'd use. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I'm in favor of the silicone.

I used weather strip adhesive. Works great . The guys that put my bike back together used some **** glue on it and I told em they needed to get their heads out of their azzes and buy something that work's and doesn't get all over everything.. Man I was pissed it was everywhere. I was lucky that it cleaned up . Super glue is for the handle on your coffee mug not for your Harley !

When I painted my inner fairing, I wemt and bought new striping from the dealer. Cost was cheap and the striping comes with rubber adhesive already in it. just peel and stick on. Works great.

I used Superglue on my old Road Glide after the dealer attempted to fix it several times with their glue that would melt when hot outside.

I appreciate the feedback. I am going to go with silicone and see how that works first.
