Do you have a good windshield installed? I don't know how much buffeting you will get rid of for the passenger. Since my wife rides higher than myself she still gets affected by the wind. She looked up the other day while riding and the wind caught the visor on her helmet and yanked her head back. Also with the fork mounted fairing, the wind currents off other vehicles slightly disturbs the front end of the bike giving it a nervous feeling. The RoadGlide fairing will not do that since it is frame mounted, and while I have not ridden a RG the fairing shape is very much like the Windjammer III that I had on my KZ900 and it is IMHO better than a fork mount. I think Bill and Richard have the right idea. Go ride some bikes with your wife and find out which one she likes best. After all when she's happy, everyone is happy.
Interestingly enough, I have a friend with an Escalade and he gave it to his wife. Bought a Seville. They say the Escalade is great for her cause she does a lot of landscape work, but they didn't like the way it tracked on the Highway. Oddly enough, his previous vehicle was a GMC Yukon and he loved it. Just goes to show everyone has different opinions. Art
Yeah, but it's the front that translates to the rear comfort. More protection and less wind buffeting. Made my RKC as comfortable as possible. Sundowner Touring seat, wide removeable back rest. Just can't make a RKC into an Ultra.
Actually, with one of the Dragonfly Fairings, HD lower fairings, and a Tour-Pak, you can come really close to turning a Road King into an Ultra Classic EG.
