Still in the break in process... 250 miles into it. Love the bike!
I have already decided on the pipe and ordered it... D&D Fatcat 2 into 1 with performance baffle. Im thinking SE Heavy Breather for intake. Need help with a cam... What do you all suggest?
I am going to install the air cleaner and pipe myself. Battlefield HD in Gettysburg, PA will do the cam and tuning. Just looking for some suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
Great pipe, you will not be disappointed.I'd go with the Woods TW5-6.I would take it to Dave at JD's in Bethleham,Pa. & let him tune it with the TTS Mastertune!!!
Hey padsave, if you are concerned about warranty and want to go with a SE cam have a dealer install it within 60 days of purchase and it's covered under your warranty. That's what my dealer tells me.
I'm on the fence about it because there are other things I'd like to do and the 103 with stage 1 is pretty nice like it is. If I did it, I'd likely go with the 255.
+1 You don't loose anything on the top end with the 255's vs. stock cams. When I had them in my 96" the TQ to about 4500 RPM was great! Add the 255's and maintain your warranty. After the warranty is up, do whatever you want with the motor!
SE254E and u will keep ure warranty.. Fuel Moto PV tuner or PCV, HD SE Heavy Breather and FM exhaust or V&H Power duals.. no need for Stage 1 download.. its a waste.. talk to FM.. u'll push high 80's or close to 90 HP and at least 110TQ + with good tune.. if u want more... get a sport bike ...
I am VERY happy with my choice to go with the 254e cams. I got the entire kit including the race tuner for 710 bucks....cannot beat that. The Race tuner is 399 all by itself!

Had 255s in my 09 Ultra worked well except for compression and heat issues . You should have acr on new one , good Bagger cam . Traded for a 11 Limited goin with 254e to try somthin different wanted to try woods 555s. I will see how these work always change them later.
IMO, just ride your bike & enjoy it. First it's the pipes & A/C,but you need some type of tuner. But you never really get it dialed in just right. so then you go with cams. Then you never get it dialed in just right. Then you go with some other engine mods. But you never get it dialed in just right. Then your on here asking what can I do to get in dialed in right. My answer is to 'LEAVE IT STOCK" Sorry guys that's just how I see it. I'm sure there are a lot of guys that have there bikes dialed right on. For me I just want to ride & not screw around with it. Of course I was one of the guys that did a lot of mods back in the day when the bikes had a "CARB". just my 2 cents
AMEN to that... how will anyone know how well it runs stock until you run it for awhile? Enjoy the stock engine
