IVE READ ALL THE THREADS AND DIDNT FIND IT BUT HAS ANY ONE BEEN ABLE TO USE A POLICE TACH WITH 6 WIRES TO A REGULAR BIKE ? OR DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHICH WIRE IS FOR WHAT ? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED ...FYI I WANT TO PUT IT ON MY 07 WIDE GLIDE AND GOT THE TACH AT A GOOD PRICE

 

Orange-ignition
Light Green/violet tracer-databus
Green/red tracer-pursuit light indicator
Brown/gray tracer-battery
Orange/white tracer-accessory
Black-ground
Orange/brown tracer-ABS warning indicator

I know I have listed (7) but if it was a tach on a non ABS bike the Orange/brown tracer wire might not be there.....
But to actually see how these interface into the main harness you need to get a Police Service Manual supplement for the wiring diagrams and then use that to find the common systems with your bike.

 

I know this is a bunch of years old, but I have the issue where my bike has ABS - 2008 Police Road King -, and my tach has the orange with brown tracer wire on it. I cannot find where the plug is supposed to go to, and the wiring diagrams, along with my bike itself, do NOT have another orange with brown tracer wire in it. I am totally confused, because the tach was removed when I tore the bike down, and I cannot remember where the wire goes. The diagrams are of no use, because they just have numbers, and do not show where the wire plugs into.
