I am working on a custom install of a 4 channel lightbox amp (ARC) in my batwing fairing The amp has it's controls on the bottom as well as it's cooling fan. If I install it right side up, the cooling fan will be installed directly on top of the radio.
Am I correct that it does NOT matter which side is up? Electronic components don't care..... Right????
Until you said it had a cooling fan, I was good for installing any way you can get it in. If the fan is for cooling, putting it on top of a heat source is counter productive. Now, mounting upside down is no issue unless fan bearings require a certain orientation. (I build PC's, Lots of fans do not have an issue) Take pics when your finished.
Awesome!! That's what I was looking for!!! Forum. Stay tuned for my custom cheap install for a 4 channel ARC clone install!!

Based on your comments from your other thread. I bought the same amp and in the process of installing it also. I will be install it upside down, with the fan on top. I have determined that only the RCA jacks need to be changed to wires to allow access due to the fairings bracket being in the way. At this time, without trimming the gauge brackets the outer fairings will not close. What modifications have you performed so far to make this amp fit.
