Well, I think I can't post my photos from another forum. Sorry for the mistake on my part. I'll try to get my photos on here some how.
I used a piece of 2" angle iron, cut it just right, drilled a couple of holes, painted it silver and walla.
Keep an eye on the inner fairing now.

There were some threads going around a few years back discussing the theory that the MoCo designed the brackets to fail so that in high vibration situations the much cheaper and easier to replace bracket would crack vs. the threaded section of the inner fairing where they tie in together.

I did a home repair job with an L-Bracket from the hardware store to shore up where the upper bracket ties into the inner fairing. 5 months later that section of the inner fairing holding the brass female thread insert broke off.

Was told it could be plastic welded back together but I ended buying a take off at a swapmeet and had it painted.

After I installed the new inner fairing using the updated aftermarket support brackets I had the front motor mount replaced by http://www.glide-pro.com/ .

It really took a lot of the shake out of the front end and fairing. Hopefully the motor mount will help the brackets to last a lot longer if not for good.

Something to think about. Maybe the brackets aren't made out of a heavier/stronger material for a reason.

Sounds like exactly what I've been through here....I repaired my fairing brackets with new MOCO re-enforced bracket, replaced front motor mount with Glide-pro, replaced inner fairing cuz the brass threaded hub broke etc... I'm looking at installing the Glide-pro system...I'm thinking that after having 80,000 miles on my bike, the rear "donuts" swing arm isolation bushings are gone and I'm picking up vibration from the rear. Hell, at this point, I might as well.

Default Black brackets?

Anyone know if these brackets can be purchased in black rather than powder coated?
