Put on a set of fairing deflectors, that will knock out most of that buffeting. I am also 5'6 and have the Harley Windsplitter on my 07 Electra Glide with the Sundowner seat, which lowers me down from stock and I only get the wind blowing on the top of my head. Very little buffeting behind the fairing, mostly just some wind blowing around and not uncomfortable. I also am running a center fork deflector.

I'm 5'8" and the splitter works just fine for me... Looks great and plenty of protection in the warmer months. I think most other recurved shields look bad on the batwing.

The HD Windsplitter looks exactly like the National Cycle windshield.
It was the worst windshield I ever bought...........and I've had at least diffetrent 12 windshields.

How tall are you? I've had a few shields and I'm cool with this one... Put about 15k on this shield last year with no problems.

I am 5"6 and have a lowered seat, so not sure if that has anything to do with it...
I don't have any direct feedback on the Windsplitter but I have tried both Klock Werks contour shield and the Natonal Cycle Vstream which are both the same basic concept. The contoured designs seem to swirl the wind and actually divert it back at you. Now I've got a 7.5"-11.5" BaggerShield. Its an adjustable shield that gives me the stylish short shield but I can change it to a high shield when I'm going on long highway rides.

If you like the looks off the stock windshield but want the extra protection when on the highway check out www.baggershield.com. I would suggest the 5.5" that adjusts to 8.5" for touring.
