I recently put the HD windsplitter on my street glide and took it out for a ride yesterday...There seemed to be more buffeting with the Windsplitter than I had with the stock windshield...anyone else have this issue?
I am 5"6 and have a lowered seat, so not sure if that has anything to do with it...
I bought the RG Custom because I really liked the fact that the stock diverter felt the closest to riding my Fat Boy with NO windshield - I like the more open feeling than with the Street Glide, Ulrtas, etc.
That said, I couldn't hear the radio at speed, asked around and went with the Windsplitter. I'm 6'0, get a little air-flow about forehead high, and hear the radio great.
It is an excellent set-up for me, but as I said - I like being in the breeze.
Went with the Klockwerks 7" on my Ultra, and it's great. A little more wind noise, but still hear the radio fine. Haven't noticed extra wind buffeting, but here in Texas the wind is normally 10 to 15 mph so always an issue. I really like looking over the shield rather than through it, so that drove my decision.

I had one....In fact I've had six different shields on my SG.. The Wind Splitter is a POS... EXTREMELY small frontal area and it behaves just like that. No amount of swoops and curves can fix that. Want a nice, low profile shield? Get a Clearview 6.5 with recurve. I have a smoke and a black Clearview 6.5 I'm getting rid of. I wanted a LITTLE more shield for longer trips so I picked up a 8 inch LRS Ultra shield(measured from center screw). This one is PERFECT for me! I also have a 8.5 in Klockwerks for sale...
For about a hundred bucks you can get the National Cycle V-stream ultra low about seven inches. I was looking around to see what I wanted and this one seems to fit the bill.
I am 5' 9" 210# and a taller 6" windshield helped, and I now run the Klock Werks 6.5" now and I am happy. But the best thing for me to get rid of the buffeting were the hawg wings from lrs. They made a huge difference. They are not adjustable but work well. http://longrideshields.com/products-page/accessories/
I read about these working for others so I tried something one day when I was out riding. I stuck my big bobo boots where the hawg wings would be and boom.... no more buffet. Might be something you wana try before you swap out windshields.
