I just got back from putting the first 50 miles on my 107" build with Andrews 54H cams and 10.3:1 compression. I wanted to get the rings seated and hoped to put about 100 miles on it and then change the oil but the girlfriend wasn't having it... too cold for her. Hell, I'd have put 250 miles on it today!
I picked a Mastertune MT8 file that was close (DTW009-03) and set the constants table for 106.6 CID and the cam profile for 3 IVO and 3 IVC. I can't even believe how good the bike runs. I'd be perfectly happy to leave it just the way it is. Starts instantly, idles smoothly, pulls like crazy on acceleration with no hesitation, no decel popping and no pinging. I haven't even begun to V-tune it yet. A big thumbs up for the MT8 calibrations!!
I'd highly recommend this as a base map for anyone using Mastertune with a similar build running the Andrews 54H or Woods 555 cams.

Beautiful. Sounds very much like the stuff I will want to do in the Fall! I'll keep track of this thread for sure.
I guess the new MT8 calibrations from TTS are truly the right stuff. Like someone else said, it's absolutely not about "my tuner is better than your tuner" but for capabilities that no one else or is going to be able to duplicate, the MT8/TTS appears to be THE way to go.
I believe he's referring to 'Task Performance' He's a small performance shop & a dealer for TTS, but does not have a dyno.
To North Star, there is Dynotunes in Oakville.
Yes, Task is the place. Dynotunes in Burlington doesn't use the TTS- I did go by there last year, long story, but ended up just doing a dyno for me, and we decided the canned map from Fullsac was very close, and close enough. Also, Stay Tuned Systems in Mount Hope (Hamilton mountain- not to far from Task Performance) comes very highly recommended, but he tunes with the SEPST.
Sorry, small thread jack.

+1 on Mastertune TTS, they used to have contract with HD and made the SERT for years. My 2002 RK with 88 and a stage 1, added the TTS and it got me 98tq and 85hp with S&S 510's after Dyno at Skip's in VA.
Glad you're happy with your new tuner. The numbers you post for your bike with the PCV are very low compared to others I've seen with similar setups. In fact, the peaks that you are are now getting with TTS you can get with a PCV just as well given a proper tune. The only thing your numbers show is WOT performance, and the only factor that dictates an optimal tune at WOT or anywhere else is getting the correct pulse-width to the injectors at the right time. That's all, and with a good tune you can get this with any of the major players in the tuner game, including TTS and the PCV. There are plenty of dyno-charts available that show PCV-equipped bikes with numbers equal to or even slightly higher than your "after" results.
The basis for the comparison is what your tuner told you about the "before" tune with the PCV, and he has an interest in presenting the numbers in his favor. That's not to say that he purposefully misrepresented, but you simply don't know how he conducted the comparison. It is also possible that the PCV wasn't installed or working properly, or the wrong map was installed in error. Remember, this is one dyno-tune and it is showing abnormally low numbers for the "before" tuner. The fact is that neither the PCV nor TTS will produce better peak numbers than the other given a proper installation and tune.
I don't know why your numbers were so low with the PCV, but they are far lower than any I've seen in the past for a Stage 1 bike like yours.
Glad you bike running well. TTS tuner is the most versitile with the most functionalty you can get, but the PC aint no slouch. Had you spent the same money on dyno time with the PCV, you would have seen very similar results, and you would have saved the money that you spent on another tuner. You really have no basis to suggest the PCV is an inferior product. Each bike is unique, a downloaded map will only get you so far, then ya gotta tune it.
Where I see the real value of a TTS is when your mods makes it so that a canned map no longer cuts it. That could be from head work, gearing changes, or any number of other upgrades. The only downside is you have to be prepared to do quite a few vtune runs (in some cases not every time) and be prepared to do a lot of tinkering when trying to perfect your ignition timing.
Hi.
I have a 2008 Ultra Classic (103cu and Andrews 54H CAMs). Now I'm going to use DUH205-03 map.
I have a +4 DEG Crank Sprocket.
And this is the question:
Do I have use 3 IVO and 3 IVC or I need to modify Intake Open and/or Intake Close values to calculate IVO and IVC ?
