The advice is, for those who've gone this route, is 135 about right or can I get more with proper mapping?
Fuel Moto's maps are weighted for performance and cooling with mileage a secondary concern. They can send you an "economy map" if you ask for it, but you can DIY by making some changes to the Fuel Adj. tables in the map. Before making changes to the map, make sure you save the original map by saving the map to a unique filename on your computer.

Open the map in the PC software and subtract 7% from both Fuel Adj. tables (front and rear cyl.) by selecting all values from 2000-3000 RPM and 5-20% TP (throttle position) and depressing PG-DN seven times. The values of all selected cells will decrease in increments of one for every keystroke (PG-DN). Save the file to a second unique filename and "Send Map" to the PCIII while tethered. You'll need to connect the 9V battery to do this.

Caveat: Don't attempt to make map changes unless you're confident in what you're doing.

Doing this will improve mileage as long as you are cruising and your wrist is not stressing the throttle too much. You should be able to get 42-45 mpg at 70 mph.

25mpg seems pretty weak to me!
Unless you're pullin' 10 second 1/4 miles,I would suggest a fine tune on the map and possibly look for a fuel leak!

Thanks guys! Iwas losing hope and looking at a BMW RT as a possible way out. Now tell me this, I rode BMs for 20+ years, hitched a side car on when the kids came along, ridden in Morrocco in the summer and Norway in the winter. The Bikes were always faultless. Rode an RT recently, ABS, adjustable suspension, traction control, great handling, 250 miles on a tank, etc etc. The bike 'disappeared' when you were riding. I mean you forgot the bike and more about what you wanted to do. So why is the thought of having to give io the big tractor in the garage - which NEVER let's you forget you're riding a Harley, so depressing? Or is that what they call 'soul'? Thanks again. I'm off to the dyno shop to spend MORE money.

i've also got the 103 in my streetglide. the stage 3 setup and i get consistently better than 40 mpg. a lot of it has to do with whether you are using your cruise control, and not blipping the throttle at every stop sign/light etc.

When I filled up today 5 gallons 165 miles. 33 mpg. I will say that there is a grin on my face for 32 of those miles. I hit 105mph by the time I was at the bottom of the on ramp and it was climbing fast! Holy chit!

you should do better then that. I finaly got my hd stage 4 out for a good ride, 4 gallons even in 175 miles, not the same setup but we both have healthy cam profiles, I tuned mine with my butt meter and ears.

WOW. I just came back from a ride yesterday going 140 miles and more than half a tank left. 200 miles is not uncommon for me. You and I have the same year of bike, same breather, and same cams. I do not have the 103 though. I would expect better mileage than 135. That's 27 miles to the gallon. Not good.

So .... you're going to bash Harley's on a HARLEY forum ? Dude, you are either a clueless idiot, or an a$$hole, or both.

What do you recommend for a PC-V? Same reductions settings?

That is EXACTLY what we call soul! Your Bimmer "disappeared" under you? sorry to hear that man...

I never forget I'm riding a Harley Davidson. I can easily forget you're riding a Bimmer OTOH! Oops...you're in the wrong forum!
