I sold my boat because it was a bottomless pit and kept sucking the money out of me. When I bought my FLHT it was the most I could afford, it is slowly turning into an ultra, still havent finished putting on the bits I bought in the winter and my mail man now has a bad back.
try working offshore for a few weeks at a time, and in your spare time you are on the internet searching through this fine website with crack addicts addicted to new goodies for the scoots... you wont notice it at first and then when you get home your wife beats ya sensless... bro I live near the medical center in Houston...some of the finest hospitals in the state and they dont even have a cure for our disease... lol
It may be because we're considered habitual offenders. There is no cure.
After all these years I think my wife has given up on me. Yep, it's true. It used to be that whenever a package arrived at the door she would start hemming & hollering about how she thought that was the last time, she would say..."you told me, after the last fix...er package that that was the last one!". Now when a package arrives at the door she just...she just accepts it! I actually might feel a little guilty now...um wait a minute...nope, I still don't. What's the matter with me?!
Thats how it first starts. See a buddies bike or a pic on the forums WOW I like those rims gotta get them for my ride.
The wife asked me how much would it cost to get the bike the way I wanted it? My answer to her was this, "To get it close to done somewhere around 10k!"
She grunted and said "you are hopeless, and does that mean I can spend 40k on jewelry?" HELL NO!! She doesn't need all that bling like I do for the bike....
At least it is an addiction that won't get you thrown into jail or lose a job from.
It's a quest for our perfect motorcyle. First is an upgrade just a to bump up the power and sound a bit, then something to add more comfort. After that are a few items to style it up somewhat, followed by a something else to improve the handling. And so it goes. I'm worried my insurance covers the cost of a used 2006 stock bike and not for all the extras that make it mine.

I am laughing. My wife was reading over my shoulder and said it is only as expensive as you make it. She then walked to the other room and saw the new Harley Summer Fashion catalog came and I hear, "Oh honey. look at this new jacket! It is only $189!" I thought she was messing with me....she was serious. She doesn't even know she has the condition too!!!!
